Starting Today: Nerd Shirt of the Day Marathon! Plus: a GIVEAWAY!

Nerd Shirts are a big part of how I show my nerdiness!

I have been a t-shirt guy for my entire life. To me, an experience isn’t fully experienced unless I get a t-shirt as a souvenir. In the case of my nerdery, it’s how I show off the nerdy stuff that I love! Some people wear their heart on their sleeve—I wear mine just a little bit to the left (or right, depending on the shoulder you start from).

I pick up more t-shirts every year and the video below shows where I was at in 2020 with almost 90 nerd shirts. Well, it’s two years later and I definitely have a larger collection. How it’ll work

I plan on doing this marathon in an organized fashion. I hope to be able to post once a day— I will be traveling in September and October so there will likely be missing days, but I will do my best.

Themes

The shirts will go by themes. I am a nerd about a lot of things so I have the obvious Star Wars and super hero shirts, but I also have tech shirts, art shirts, and Japan shirts—Japan shirts were not included in the 2020 video above. It didn’t occur to me that the level of love I have for Japanese culture definitely pushes me into the “nerdy for Japan” zone. 日本がとても大好きですよ！(I love Japan so much!)

Subcategories

There will also be subcategories within each theme. For instance, I have many Star Wars shirts, so I’ve organized them into groups, like all of my Mandalorian-related shirts, or all of my Ahsoka shirts. Likewise, amongst my selection of tech t-shirts, I have Apple shirts, maker shirts, and gadget shirts. I will also be interrupting this plan with special t-shirts for special days. Like, I tend to wear Mystery Science Theater 3000 shirts on days when an MST3K event happens on Gizmoplex.com or a Marvel comics shirt when a Marvel TV show is on. So, watch for Spider-Man t’s once She-Hulk starts to air on 8/18!

The first theme I’ll be starting with are tech shirts. I will try to coordinate things so that I start the Star Wars theme on September 21, to coincide with the premiere of the new Star Wars series, Andor.

How long is this Nerd Shirt Marathon going to run?

I don’t have an exact count of the number of nerdy t-shirts I currently own but I am expecting the marathon to last into December or even into 2023.
